A Morning of Connection, Fresh Air and Great Company
There is something special that happens when women come together in nature.
Our recent hike with Edel Conroy was exactly that kind of morning - a wonderful group of women gathering to walk, talk, breathe, laugh and simply be. No pressure, no performance, no agenda beyond making the time to show up for ourselves and each other.
Set against the beauty of the outdoors, it was one of those mornings that reminded us why community matters so much. The conversations flowed easily, the energy was warm and open, and there was something deeply nourishing about stepping away from the noise of everyday life and into fresh air, movement and connection.
We were also incredibly lucky to have some of our wonderful panellists join us. They brought not only the most delicious energy balls, but also their own lived experiences, wisdom and insights - which is so reflective of everything we want The Balance Project to be. A space where women come together, share openly, support naturally and add value simply by being present.
For Helen, co-founder of The Balance Project, it was such a joy to be there in person and experience the morning alongside everyone who joined us. Georgie was very much there in spirit. As many of you know, Georgie lives with a chronic back issue, and hiking is not something her body can always accommodate.
And that, in itself, feels important to say.
Inclusion is not about everyone doing the same thing in the same way. It is about creating a community where people can be involved as much or as little as feels right for them, and where every form of participation is valued. Not every activity will suit every person, every body, or every season of life - and that is okay.
What matters is that there is space to join in, connect, and make time for yourself in whatever way works for you.
That is a big part of what we want to build through The Balance Project community. Not something rigid or exclusive, but something flexible, welcoming and real. A place where women can come along when they can, take part in what suits them, and know they are part of something supportive and meaningful.
This hike was a beautiful reminder that wellbeing does not always have to look complicated. Sometimes it looks like good people, honest chats, a walk in nature, something homemade shared from a backpack, and a few hours that leave you feeling lighter than when you arrived.
We are so grateful to everyone who came, to Edel for being part of such a lovely morning, and to the brilliant women who continue to shape this community with their presence, openness and generosity.
More of this, please.
Always with balance. Always with you.
